What is Dead Island2
Deep Silver will publish Dambuster Studios’ Dead Island 2 action role-playing game. Dead Island 2 varies from its predecessors in that it takes place in the quarantined cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco, ten years after the events of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. The game will be released on April 21, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Dead Island 2 Storyline
The story of Dead Island 2 begins on an evacuation plane, which is transporting you and a group of other survivors from the otherwise condemned, overrun streets of Los Angeles. When your jet crashes, though, you’re left to fend for yourself and pick your way through the ruins. Your character is subsequently bitten during an altercation with a zombie, but when you discover that you do not transform into one, you realise that you must be resistant to the virus that transforms others into monsters. You must now gather other survivors and carve a path through the abandoned city in order to contact the authorities and have your entire team rescued.

The game, which was announced in 2014, has had a rough development phase due to multiple changes with the studios working on it. Dead Island 2 was contracted to Yager Development in 2012, however they were let go in 2015 and Sumo Digital took it in 2016. Everything we know and love about Dead Island 2 has been fully revamped. To begin, the map has been divided into “districts” as described by game director David Stenton. The combat retains the same emphasis on melee hack-and-slash action, but the experience has developed significantly since 2011. We’ve had the pleasure of playing two revisions of the game’s test build, beginning with our first Dead Island 2 hands-on. We could already observe Dambuster’s painstaking work on the FLESH system from this. The grotesque, anatomically-accurate graphics attempt to capture the hilarity and revulsion of 1980s horror, injecting much-needed lightness into such a brutal game.Â

Players can pick from a variety of survivors. The decision is important because, once a survivor is selected, there is no turning back at any time in the narrative. Each character has a unique set of benefits to go along with their various qualities.
Amy: Amy has maxed up agility stats and the skill cards Divide and Conquer and Relief Pitcher, which increase damage while striking solitary zombies and restore stamina after hitting a zombie with a weapon throw.
Ryan: Ryan has maxed up his toughness stats, as well as the skill cards Seesaw and Retaliation (which grant a moderate Force increase when using Block or Dodge).
Dani: With her Stamina stats maxed out, Dani can launch multiple attacks. She also possesses the skill cards for Thunderstruck (heavy attacks cause explosions on hit) and Bloodlust (killing a lot of zombies quickly restores health).

Carla: Carla has a maxed out Resilience stat and the skill cards for Dig Deep and Mosh Pit, which increase toughness and grant a slight damage boost when used while surrounded by zombies.
Bruno: Bruno possesses the Backstab and Rapid Reprisal skill cards, which may be used to attack zombies from behind and increase damage while also boosting agility and heavy attack. He also has a maxed out Critical Damage stat.
Jacob: With his Peak Health metrics maxed up, Jacob has an advantage. Additionally, he possesses the skill cards for Feral (get stackable damage boosts when hitting quickly) and Critical Gains (critical hits gain a damage and stamina boost when total stamina is low).
