Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20, 2024)
Inspired by the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King, director Barry Jenkins will direct a prequel film called Mufasa: The Lion King, starring Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani and Aaron Pierre.
This film will provide a new perspective on the classic Disney tale as Rafiki narrates a story to Kiara, Simba and Nala’s daughter, about how her grandfather Mufasa rose to power in the Pride Lands, with commentary from Timon and Puma.
Mufasa: The Lion King will help Disney close out 2024, opening in theaters on December 20.
